What if run a coil over recommended wattage

A while back, I decided to crank up my wattage just a bit, thinking it would give me a better flavor, and I’ve heard that some factory coil heads are rated low but in reality can handle more power.
The result is — at first, it was great—huge clouds and intense taste. But then, after just a couple of days, I started getting burnt hits. I noticed my coil was tasting off, and it burned out way faster than usual. IDK whether it has sth to do with the liquid, or the mod I use, or it’s just not good to run the coil higher than wattage recommended… Anyone of you can share on this?

It’s definitely tempting to crank up the wattage for bigger clouds and better flavor, but there’s usually a reason those coils come with specific wattage ratings.

Running your coil higher than its recommended wattage can lead to burnt hits and a shorter lifespan for the coil, as you’ve noticed. When you push it beyond the intended range, the wicking material might not keep up with the increased heat, leading to that burnt taste. Also, the type of e-liquid you’re using can also play a role; if it’s high in sweeteners or VG (vegetable glycerin), it might gunk up the coil faster at higher temperatures.

So, I’d recommend sticking to the “manufacturer’s suggested wattage” most of the time. Of course, if you have particular preferences or needs based on your juice or airflow, you can tweak it a little, but generally, it’s best to stay within that recommended range.
