HNB — Future of Smoking or Just Another Phase? 🤔

So lately I’ve been seeing iQOS, Hilo, and other HNB (heat-not-burn) devices popping up everywhere. Friends who never touched disposables suddenly swear by them, saying they taste “cleaner” and feel “closer to the real thing.”

And honestly? I get the curiosity. HNB sits right between traditional smoking and vaping — you still get real tobacco sticks, but instead of burning at 800°C like a cig, they heat at around 300°C. Less smoke, less smell, fewer nasty combusted chemicals. At least that’s the pitch.

From my experience (and a bit of nerdy research :face_with_monocle:):

  • Flavor is more “tobacco-forward,” not sweet or icy like most vapes.
  • Harshness is lower, but there’s still that throat “impact.”
  • Smell doesn’t linger — huge win.
  • Maintenance can be annoying lol… the cleaning part is not for everyone.
  • Cost ends up similar to cigs, depending on how fast you go through the sticks.

What really surprises me is how many people treat HNB as a more “grown-up” alternative — sleek device, premium vibe, more discreet. It’s kind of tapping into that “modern smoker” lifestyle niche.

Curious what you guys think:
Have you tried iQOS or Hilo?
Did it replace your regular vape or cigarettes… or was it just a short phase before going back to your usual setup?

Would love to hear everyone’s experience. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Sadly the taste was not for me it tasted like soggy toast I liked the idea of it and great engineering behind it but the thought of having real tobacco sticks and not tasting like a real cigarette was to tempting to just try light up

I found vaping to be better as your using bottles of E-liquid ( mindset ) which doesn’t represent real tobacco.
