Ever wondered if your vape can actually set off a smoke alarm? Short answer: yes, it can — but not always.
Smoke alarms don’t know the difference between smoke from a fire and vapor from your vape. So if you’re blowing big clouds, especially in a small space with poor ventilation, it might trigger the alarm.
Here are a few situations where it might go off:
You’re vaping directly under or near the smoke detector
You’re indoors with little airflow (like a car or small room)
You’re cloud-chasing with a high-powered device
Want to be safe? Try vaping near an open window or turn on a fan. Better safe than sorry — no one wants to explain to building security why the alarm went off.

I have set off smoke alarm many times while vaping. I ended up just removing the batteries to stop it. Are battery-powered alarms easily triggered?

I have 3 smoke alarms in house all linked 1 upstairs one near kitchen and one at front door can’t vape indoors unless I sit at window then blow smoke out so people think house on fire as they see smoke billowing out window
so can’t win either way . The battery powered ones are easy cheated put a shower cap over them
but mains powered ones like mine don’t like shower caps either lol.

I’m not going to take that risk because I don’t want to pay for calling the fire truck for no reason.
