Hey everyone! Let’s talk about something that’s always puzzled me: why do some people happily drop $500 on a basic white T-shirt just because it has a luxury brand’s logo, while others—even if they can afford it—refuse to play that game?
I get that fashion is subjective, and branding creates perceived value… but at what point does it stop making sense? A cotton tee isn’t functionally better than a $20 alternative, so are we paying for:
- Status signaling? (That subtle flex…)
- Artistic value? (Some collabs are cool, I’ll admit.)
- Pure hype? (Limited drops = FOMO.)
On the flip side, I respect those who DGAF about logos and prioritize quality/ethics over branding—even if they’re loaded.
So, where do you stand?
- Are designer pieces worth it to you? Why?
- What’s the most you’ve spent on “just a logo”? Any regrets?
- Or do you think it’s all nonsense?
Let’s debate! Maybe I’m missing something.

Yes it really depends on the intention. Some go designer for the art, some for the status, some for the vibe and even for the respect. Wearing certain brands can change how people treat you or see you. It’s wild, but it happens.

I personally prefer clothes that are comfy regardless of the brand. I must admit that some items on some more expensive ones do end up working out better for me (TH jeans over Primark jeans) for example, however these are items I’d only buy on sale…

Well on work nights out I like good branded suits like Armani I always received compliments and a few jealous vibes from other colleagues lol
But during day it’s mostly wranglers, jacket and shirt and the price of the wrangler jackets and shirts have rocketed over the years it is a style that never fades
It’s a sorta trade mark never see me in anything but denim lol or sometimes swap the denim jacket for a leather jacket you always know it looks right and fuss free,
The cheaper brands just don’t look or feel right

Yes, everyone pursues different things. And when you wear expensive clothes, others will definitely look at you differently, this is a fact.

Some of the more expensive brands do have better quality clothes. I can only wear Primark clothes for about a year before they become loose after washes.
We do need to match different clothes according to different occasions. This is also a respect for other people. Sometimes I deliberately wear nice clothes to make myself the focus for a short time. LOL.
Hahaha yep I respect them “ look at me I’m better than you “

These luxury brands are pretty good, cause they never cheat the poor (like me
).
I never spend on luxury. But I do spend a lot on premium. I prefer to buy the 200 euro shoes that are completely leather and give a good fit, than sneakers worth 400 that will break down within a couple years. I try to apply that to most purchases in my life. I always wear 100% cotton shirts for example. Polyester is basically just plastic and I dont want to rub that against my body, it also feels uncomfortable to me.
As @AndraVapourium said I also prefer to pass on cheaply made goods like Primark. That stuff falls apart even if you just look at it lol.
