Hey guys! I thought it would be a fun idea to take a look in the past and see how certain products, mainly disposables and pod systems, compare to today’s standards!
I originally reviewed the Elfbar BC5000 on my channel about 3.5 years ago and since it was largely popular at the time, I chose to compare that to some of the newer devices.
I took a look at some newer devices like the VIHO TRX 50k and Pillow Talk SC40K.
Puff count: The new devices are advertising about 10X more puffs per device.
E-liquid: BC5000 has 13 ML, whereas Pillow Talk & TRX have roughly 20 ML
Battery capacity: Elfbar has 650 mAh compared to TRX’s 1500 mAh, pillow talk 1000 mAh
The Newer devices also have intelligent display screens to change wattage, and adjust flavor on the device such as sweetness and coolness.
As far as the experience, the new devices are much more smooth, flavor, and consistent. The Elfbar in the video has a vague flavor and has a problem with misfiring.
As far as the pod systems, I took a look at newer devices such as the Vaporesso XROS 5 & Vibe, OXVA NeXLIM, and Rincoe Neso Et. Compared with devices from a few years ago such as the Nevoks APX S1 and Voopoo V-Mate E, there was quite a bit of difference.
The Nevoks has a 500 mAh battery and 2ML pods, whereas as even something as small as the Rincoe has a 1400 mAh battery. A big difference also comes in the way of the battery designs where all the new ones have some sort of screen with adjustable wattage and settings. The flavor in the pods is quite substantial as well. Unfortunately, both batteries for the Voopoo no longer work even after being charged all the way up. Could be a problem with the pod as well.
Overall, the products from the past havn’t stood up well compared to today’s products. Even newer disposables with comparable e-liquid capacitys to old products still have a better utilization rate of that e-liquid.
I would have loved to try some other products from the past! What devices do you have that have stood the test of time and are still usable and comparable to today’s products?
