Freebase Nicotine vs. Nicotine Salts: What's Your Choice?

Interest

I’ve found there’s a lot to consider, especially in terms of flavor, smoothness, and overall experience. Freebase nicotine is the original form used in early e-liquids, and it’s known for delivering a strong throat hit, which some people enjoy as it closely mimics smoking. But for me and many others, that same throat hit can feel a bit harsh, especially at higher nicotine levels.

Nicotine salts, on the other hand, offer a smoother experience, even with higher nicotine content. Thanks to the added benzoic acid, they reduce harshness and bitterness, making them feel more enjoyable and less irritating. Nicotine salts also absorb into the bloodstream faster, making them ideal for those looking for a quick nicotine fix in lower-power pod systems.

I’ve noticed people have mixed opinions. Some prefer freebase for its familiar “hit,” while others like the softer, more flavorful experience of nicotine salts. What about you? Do you prefer the classic throat hit of freebase or the smoother vibe of nicotine salts?
