Xros 5 Kit - First Impressions

I just got my hands on the Vaporesso XROS 5 Kit, and been using one for a few hours now. I’m located in the EU and so this is a TPD version. (2ml pods).

Kit itself: The dimensions are near identical to the XROS 3 & 4, though it seems to be made from a slightly heavier alloy, which feels like an amazing built quality. The larger battery also add the the weight, so it feels very sturdy in hand, and a bit reminiscent of the Pro version, but without the added bulk. In terms of design, there is a groove on each side of the kit where the controls are located. I really like that, as it means the controls don’t protrude too much and it add some extra grip.

The screen, small but high definition (OLED, I’m almost sure), is very easily readable. I have bad eyesight, so using the white theme, makes it real easy to read the screen. The screen or the glass /plastic protecting it protrudes slightly and it makes a nice resting area for my thumb - and fingerprints I guess

The main fire button is on the right hand side, just above the USB-c port. Airflow control is on the left.

The settings menu is accessed by 4 clicks. The key options, in summary, are to be be able to disable the fire button to fire the kit (Great). The fire button is disabled by default, perfect for me. “Screen lock” which is my view is not adequately named further disables the fire button against accidental clicks, so that the only possible action is the 4 presses which will let you disable the screen lock. Obviously, you can still vape in auto-draw.

There are 3 power modes, Eco, Normal and Power, which is always nice to have.

Content of the box: 1x 0.6 Ohm, 1x 0.8 Ohm, usual basic USB-c lead, usual papers. Nothing extraordinary. It’s worth highlighting that it doesn’t come with a 0.4 Ohm by default, which as a 0.6 Ohm user I think is great.

Corex 3.0 Pods: Haven’t noticed an obvious difference with the Corex 2.0 pods, which is a good thing in my book, as I love these.

In conclusion, I’m well impressed by the built quality and really happy with this new addition to the Xros family.

A thoughtful XROS upgrade: sturdier alloy and bigger battery, crisp OLED, smart button-disable with auto‑draw, handy airflow and three power modes, plus familiar COREX pods make the EU TPD version a rock-solid daily carry—adults only, nicotine is addictive.
