Last week, VAPORESSO dropped its newest additions to the XROS lineup—the XROS 5 and XROS 5 MINI. No doubt, these are gonna be some of the hottest vapes of the year. But while we wait to get our hands on them, let’s take a quick look back at their killer predecessor: the XROS 4.
Specifications (U.S. Version)
- XROS 4 dimensions: 120.8 mm x 24 mm x 14 mm
- Materials: Aluminum alloy
- Battery capacity: 1000 mAh
- Charging: USB-C
- Pods: XROS series (COREX 2.0)
- Pod capacity: 3 mL
- Pod material: PCTG
- Chipset: AXON
Design and Quality
XROS 4 is still a stick-style pod system, and it has a display screen with a button on the front side. On the back side, it has the air slider and the cool VAPORESSO logo. In typical VAPORESSO fashion, XROS 4’s design is very simple and advanced.
The XROS 4 series has a variety of colors, each of which is a metal body with a strong texture. The one I have is a gradient color. A few days ago, I saw a friend in the community saying that this color has an Easter atmosphere. Now I see it is true.
Performance
The XROS 4 retains compatibility with the COREX-powered pods used across the XROS series, while introducing three new 3 mL options: 0.4 ohm (first seen in the XROS PRO), 0.6 ohm, and 0.8 ohm. These updated pods feature COREX 2.0 technology, delivering enhanced flavor and longer coil life.
In testing, the 0.6-ohm and 0.8-ohm pods performed exceptionally well on the XROS 4, offering excellent flavor and durability—each easily handling 30 mL of e-liquid. I found them best suited to the normal power setting.
The 0.4-ohm pod, while functional on the low setting, didn’t impress as much as the other two. Overall, the new pods are a solid upgrade, though the 0.4-ohm option feels less optimized for the XROS 4.
Battery life and charging
The XROS 4 features a 1000mAh internal battery with 2A fast charging via its side-mounted USB-C port. In testing, it achieved a peak charge rate of 1.79A - exceeding expectations (I typically look for at least 1.6A). A full charge took just 35 minutes, placing it among the faster-charging pods (most take 30-60 minutes).
Actual usable capacity measured around 850mAh, which aligns perfectly with my minimum expectation of 800mAh. Overall, the battery performance delivers exactly what vapers need - quick charging and reliable capacity.
