I first tried vaping in my early 20s when a friend passed me their vape at a party.
I remember the first puff being unexpectedly smooth and tasting like tropical fruit:pineapple:
—a huge surprise compared to the harshness of smoke. It was weird seeing the cloud of vapor and feeling the sweet flavor, but I was definitely intrigued. I took a second puff and thought,“Okay, this is kinda fun.”
What made it even better was how it turned into a social thing. A few of us were standing around, passing the vape like it was some new gadget everyone wanted to check out. There was this mix of excitement and“wait, am I doing this right?” moments. 
I didn’t get my own device right away, but before I knew it, I was hunting for flavors that matched my vibe and getting my first pen-style vape.
