The way the vocals are screamed, not polished, and the emotion that comes through in the guitars—it’s not trying to be pretty, it’s just honest. Bands like Counterparts don’t filter anything. It’s pain, grief, frustration—all laid bare. It’s the one genre that consistently feels real to me.
