It’s Sports Month in our UV community – and we want to hear your unforgettable sports memories!
Here’s mine:
I have two favorite sports teams, but the one I’m truly obsessed with is Argentina’s national soccer team. My love for them started in 2014, during the Brazil World Cup. It was the first time for me that I saw Messi play on such a big stage.
He lost in the final, and the image of his back as he walked off the field broke my heart.
After that, I followed every step of his journey—his brilliance at Barcelona, his emotional departure, crying like baby, and his move to Inter Miami. I watched as teammates came and went, and he kept going.
Then came the moment that felt like a dream: in the same year, Messi led Argentina to win the Copa América with a younger generation of players by his side. And not long after, they won the World Cup. Watching that felt like watching a dream finally come true.
