I didn’t know what time it was, but the air in my room felt heavy cold and still, as if the world itself had stopped breathing.
The curtains swayed gently, brushed by a faint blue glow from outside.
At first, I thought it was just the reflection of a streetlight.
But then, behind the curtain, someone was standing there.
A tall figure with long, tangled hair, standing still like a statue.
Her dress was faded white, her face hidden in shadow. When I stared a little longer, she turned slowly, painfully slowly.
And that’s when I saw her.
Her dark eyes glowed faintly, and her wide smile looked carved permanently onto a face no longer alive.
Her pale hand moved, reaching toward the window.
At that moment, two candles on the windowsill suddenly lit up, flickering as if something invisible was breathing around them.
Their flames cast twisted shadows across my walls, as though they were trying to swallow the whole room.
I couldn’t move.
My heart was pounding, but my body was frozen trapped somewhere between waking and dreaming.
Then I heard her whisper, soft and melodic, almost like a lullaby:
“Don’t close your eyes…”
The blue light grew brighter blinding until everything shattered into darkness.
I woke up.
Breathing hard, my hands trembling, my pillow damp with sweat.
The room was silent.
The curtains were closed. There was no blue light, no candles, no figure at the window.
Only the sound of my heartbeat echoing in my ears.
I stared at the window for a long time… then took a deep breath.
Just a dream.
Nothing but a nightmare.
