Missing Home This Thanksgiving? Let's Make It Special Anyway!

Hey guys, can you believe the 2025 Thanksgiving is already around the corner? This year has been absolutely wild for me work-wise, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty bittersweet about the holiday. For the first time ever, I won’t be able to make it home to my family in Ohio because of a last-minute business trip. It’s kinda hitting me hard—I’m definitely going to miss my mom’s famous sweet potato casserole, the chaotic board game nights with my siblings, and the Christmas preparation vibe :face_holding_back_tears:.

But you know what? I’m trying to make the best of it. I’m thinking of putting together a little “Friendsgiving” here in my hotel room with a couple of coworkers who also can’t go home. Nothing fancy—maybe just some takeout, a pumpkin pie from a local bakery, and good conversations surrounded by vaping clouds. It won’t be the same, but gratitude doesn’t always have to look traditional, right?

What about you all? Anybody else spending Thanksgiving away from family this year? If you’ve done it before, hit me with your best tips for making it feel special anyway. Wishing everyone here a warm and meaningful holiday, whether you’re traveling, staying put, or rewriting traditions like me.
