Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City hosts its iconic star-studded event, drawing together top-tier actors, musicians, models, designers, and creatives to celebrate the unveiling of the museum’s spring Costume Institute exhibition.
This year, the spotlight was on “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, a powerful new showcase running from May 10 to October 26. The exhibit explores how fashion and tailoring have shaped Black identity across the Atlantic diaspora, presented through 12 distinct traits of Black dandyism.
In tribute to this powerful theme, the 2025 dress code was aptly named “Tailored For You” — a sartorial direction that aimed to inspire while leaving room for imaginative interpretation. With menswear and suiting taking center stage, guests embraced tailoring in all its forms — from sharp and classic to bold, theatrical, and boundary-pushing. (In true Met Gala tradition, of course.)
