Luxe XR Max 2 review

I received the Luxe XR Max 2 about a week ago now and let me tell you - it’s one sexy piece of kit.

The airflow is bigger, and easier to control than my previous set of Luxe X Pros, the battery life means that my trusty set of Luxe X Pro kits have been reduced down to using exclusively when my XR Max 2 in on charge - I charge it first thing in the morning while I have my breakfast, and is fully charged by the time I’ve walked the dogs and need to head to work. Baring in mind, I’m quite a heavy user- according to my device, I’ve done over 2600 puffs in less than a week!

But even then, by the time I charge it in the morning, the battery life has only dropped to about 45% - it’s just an ingrained need for me to have my device fully charged before leaving the house despite working in a vape shop and having full use of the chargers at work.

I must admit, I’m yet to try the new and improved pods and coils, as when I received the kit, my coil was brand new and seemed like a waste to bin it, so I just transferred the pod over from my old device. Bonus points to Vaporesso for making them cross-compatible!

So lets take a look at the specs:

  • Improved Battery life - 3200mAh - Absolutely fantastic, over the double from my Luxe X Pro devices. Plenty of battery life to the point where I’m now comfortable leaving the house with just one kit, leaving the old ones as the ones to use while this is on charge.
  • Improved airflow - I thought that using the Luxe X Pro with the 0.4 coil was sub-ohm enough for me - boy I was wrong, and the pink pro devices feel like RDL devices compared to this!
  • Pod cross- compatibility - I must admit, I’ve not even tried the new and improved pods and coils yet, I’ll get back to you guys next week about that, because the Luxe XR Max 2 takes the same pods as all the other Luxe X range devices.
  • Fantastic colours - Mine’s the Imperial Red. It’s gold with a red leather backing and it’s got to be one of the pretties kits out there at the moment!
  • Different themes - I’ve opted for the blue- I just like the colour. I love how the LED colours change to fit the theme as well.
  • Pulse Mode - while both eco and pulse seem similar, I’ve definitely noticed a flavour difference between the 2. Eco seems to be steady on the flavour, while the pulse mode gives a bit of an extra kick. I’m not sure yet whether this has an effect on the coil life, however, while using it in pulse mode, it’s lasted me a week already!

What are your thoughts about the Luxe XR Max 2? I can definitely see myself owning a second one soon enough just because colours!

Great in depth review. Curious thi, what made you pick this pod device over the more default pick most people chose? (eg xros 4 and xros 5 pro). Are the pods better? Or tastier vape delivery?

Wow, very cool, I hope I can have it soon.

I picked this one mainy due to the pod size -Xros is limited to 2ml, whereas I can remove the rubber bung on the XR Max 2, meaning it can have up to 4.5ml liquid. Xros range is definitely one of my favourites, due to how easily it is to use and how convenient it as, but as I’m gradually lowering my nicotine strength (I’ve just started on 3mg, pray for me  or rather for other people), I prefer the airflow on the XR Max 2, as even on the 0.4 GTX coil, it’s a lot airier and more sub-ohm style than the Xros.
