Let's Talk Vaping & The Planet: How Do You Recycle Your Gear?

Hey eco-conscious vapers! :globe_showing_europe_africa: As much as we love vaping, it’s time to chat about its environmental impact—and what we can do to reduce it.

The Problem:

  • E-Waste: Lithium batteries, coils, and circuits often end up in landfills, leaking toxins.
  • Plastic Pollution: Many pods/cartridges are single-use and non-biodegradable.
  • Chemical Waste: Residual e-liquid can contaminate soil and water.

Industry Shifts & Solutions:

:recycling_symbol: Some brands (like Vaporesso and Geek Bar) are now using recycled materials and designing refillable/recyclable pods.
:counterclockwise_arrows_button: In Southeast Asia, a growing secondhand market lets users resell/upcycle old devices—giving them a longer life!
:seedling: A few startups are even creating biodegradable pods and solar-powered charging cases.

Your Turn:

How do you handle old vape gear?

  • Recycle through programs like VEHS or local e-waste bins?
  • DIY projects (turn pods into art?)?
  • Just toss ’em (be honest!)?

Share your hacks—let’s inspire each other to vake greener! :recycling_symbol::dashing_away:

Some of my old vapes I give to friends or neighbours or I just drop my old vapes in battery recycling bins so they can recycle the battery inside I get a few to trial and I purchase around 1, or two per month all open systems no disposables as for pods I just drop into my blue recycling bin where all recycling plastic goes and as for liquid I usually just vape it lol out of date or yucky liquids get poured down the toilet and yep you guessed it the plastic bottles get put in blue recycling bin .
