I Am Deeply Moved By My Parents' Sustainable Life

Every time I visit my parents, I am deeply moved by their way of life. They have a small garden at home, lush and vibrant with various vegetables growing throughout the year. Tending the soil, weeding, and picking fresh produce with my mom has become one of the moments I cherish most during my visits. :hugs:

In fact, my mom only started learning to grow vegetables after she retired. She often says that this sustainable lifestyle not only allows her to escape the hustle and bustle of city life but also brings her endless joy. She always smiles and tells me that while her small efforts may seem insignificant, every little bit counts when it comes to caring for our planet. :earth_asia:

This way of living is simple yet fulfilling. It nourishes both our bodies and our souls. Every time I step into their garden, I feel a rare sense of peace and grounding. That small patch of land not only reflects nature’s generosity but also embodies their love for life and their sense of responsibility toward the world. :deciduous_tree: :deciduous_tree: :deciduous_tree:

Geez! I wish I could have my own garden in the future haha, a big one! After my mom retired, she also started build her own garden in our house’s balcony, every morning the first thing that she does is to look after her plants, not say ‘moring’ to me, I become her second daughter in her mind right after the garden :face_exhaling:

Sure~ To be honest, homegrown vegetables are incredibly flavorful, sweet, and fresh, very different from the packaged vegetables you buy in the supermarket.

Oh, my mom used this to make a delicious dish! This vegetable is called ‘Si Gua’ in Chinese.

Awesome! I also grow some vegetables at home, and it feels so rewarding and calming. There’s a special kind of satisfaction in watching the plants thrive and being able to harvest them. It’s not just healthier, but it also feels like a small way to connect more with nature. Big respect to your mom for starting this journey,it’s super inspiring

Yeah, I think that’s the main reason so many people are drawn to planting their own veggies and having a garden. They totally enjoy the satisfaction, put in a lot of effort, and take joy in watching them grow day by day.
