How to Maintain and Clean Your Vape Like a Pro! 🔧

Hey Vapers! Clean hardware delivers better flavor, more consistent performance, and safer use. Residue from e‑liquids—especially sweetened or darker flavors—can build up quickly, causing muted taste, leaks, sticky buttons, and even electrical issues. This guide walks you through what to clean, how often, and the right techniques for pod systems, vape pens, tanks, and rebuildables without risking damage.

Quick Clean Routine (5–10 min) :white_check_mark:

- Power off and remove batteries if applicable

- Separate tank/pod from the device; empty any e‑liquid

- Wipe the device body with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, then dry

- Wash tank glass/metal parts and drip tip in warm soapy water; rinse and air‑dry thoroughly

- Do not wash prebuilt coil heads—replace them if flavor is dull or burnt

- Clean metal contacts/threads with a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol; let it evaporate

- Reassemble, prime a new coil (few drops of e‑liquid), fill, wait 5–10 minutes, start at lower power

Do’s and Don’ts :man_gesturing_no::woman_gesturing_ok:

- Do keep liquids away from the device’s electronics.

- Do dry parts completely before reassembly (moisture = gurgling/leaks)

- Don’t use harsh solvents (bleach/acetone) or high heat to dry.

- Don’t charge or use the device if it’s wet.

How Often? :spiral_calendar:

- Light/clear e‑liquids: quick wipe daily, full clean weekly.

- Sweet/dark e‑liquids: clean every 3–5 days.

- Switching flavors: rinse parts first to avoid ghosting.

Mini Toolkit :toolbox:

- Microfiber cloth, cotton swabs, soft brush

- Mild dish soap, warm water

- Isopropyl alcohol (70–90%) for metal contacts

- Spare coils and O‑rings

You can rinse prebuilt coils under running water but leave a couple days to dry before use if you feel the need to clean them I just discard them regardless after 2000 puffs. So I don’t run the risk of burn outs.

I drop pods and disassembled tanks into a small tub or basin with luke warm water and a little washing up liquid then use small brush or cotton buds to run around the insides and mouth piece rinse with fresh clean water then shake dry and leave on paper towels to completely dry out to absorb moisture.

My devices I use dry cotton buds to run around the crevices inside every 5 days regardless of which colour of juice I use
