Hey Vape Fam, our 2nd station of vaping culture exploration is going to pull back the curtain on one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant (and underrated) vaping cultures: 🇮🇩 **Indonesia**. From Jakarta’s bustling streets to Bali’s chill vibes, Indonesia’s vape scene blends tradition and innovation. Let’s dive in! ### **1. The Rise of Vaping in a Clove Cigarette Nation** Indonesia is the land of _kretek_ (clove cigarettes), a cultural icon for generations. But vaping? It’s exploded as a modern alternative, especially among millennials and Gen Z. Why? - **Affordability** : With kretek taxes soaring, vaping offers a cost-effective escape. - **Flavor Freedom** : Indonesian vapers crave bold, sweet profiles—think **tropical fruits (mango, lychee)**, **creamy desserts (martabak manis-inspired custards)**, and **spiced tobacco** blends that nod to kretek heritage. - **Community Vibes** : Local vape shops (_toko vape_) aren’t just stores—they’re hangouts for cloud sessions and coil-building workshops. ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/vaporesso/original/2X/5/54fe9723706e1e07e11525752551693eb08bd617.jpeg) ### **2. Device Preferences: Pods Rule, But Clouds Aren’t Ignored** - **Pod Systems Dominance** : Compact, user-friendly devices like the **VAPORESSO XROS Series** and **LUXE Series** are _everywhere_. Why? They’re perfect for Indonesia’s on-the-go lifestyle and pair flawlessly with high-nic salt juices (20-30mg is the sweet spot). - **Cloud Culture Niche** : While pods lead, sub-ohm enthusiasts in cities like Bandung or Surabaya flex mods like the **VAPORESSO GEN Series** for jaw-dropping clouds at meetups. ![3](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/vaporesso/original/2X/c/c14a18a8f527176c5482df7d71cdb167f9684293.jpeg) ### **3. The DIY Revolution & Local Juice Brands** - **Homebrew Heroes** : DIY e-liquid mixing is HUGE here. Vapers tweak recipes with local ingredients—_gula aren_ (palm sugar), _sirsak_ (soursop), even _jamu_ (traditional herbal tonics)! ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/vaporesso/original/2X/a/a02114e2e0624150eeddba4719e39a0863d4f129.jpeg) ### **4. Regulatory Waves & Community Hustle** - **Strict(ish) Rules**: Indonesia taxes e-liquids heavily (up to 57%!), but the community thrives via Telegram groups and Instagram _resellers_ for deals. - **Advocacy Hustle** : Local vapers fight misinformation daily, pushing vaping as a harm-reduction tool in a nation where 65M+ still smoke kretek. ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/vaporesso/original/2X/6/6881f1057318e47bb189c5c265012a94d274e344.jpeg) 1. ### **Let’s Chat, Indo Vapers!** - What’s your daily driver setup? - Favorite local e-liquid brand/flavor? - How do you navigate vaping stigma or regulations? Shout out your go-to _toko vape_ or DIY tips below—let’s spotlight Indo’s vape genius! 🔥 _Terima kasih_ for keeping the clouds bold and the culture louder. ---

Right?! Indonesia’s vape scene is like a flavor explosion with a side of cultural heritage. The way they’ve taken the essence of kretek and blended it with tropical fruits and creamy desserts is next-level creativity. If you ever get the chance to try a clove-tobacco e-liquid, don’t sleep on it—it’s like vaping history with a modern twist. ---
